Description

i recently discovered an awesome, free, unbiased renderer called indego, so i decided to give this scene another render. the highlight on the table from the caustics is much dimmer, but the whole thing is a lot more photorealistic. it's a little grainy because i became impatient. the way indigo works is very much like a real camera; the longer you let it work, the more light it will catch on the film, and thus the less grainy the picture will be. if the resolution was smaller, it would have taken a lot less time.

how long did i let this render, you ask? a very, very long time. you don't want to know. ok, maybe you do. about a week. yeah, about 160 hours. of course, it would have gone much faster if i didn't lower the priority so i could play world of warcraft and counterstrike...

I know this is an old submition, but I would have killed myself ifeven a VERY complex render exceeds 5 hours! so for somehting that simple? WOah!!! Although its a nice simple caustics test - i still would not have let it render for 1 week darn it! and i have never thought of setting prioraty for a renderer before to play a game, hmmm sounds tempting to try :P PS much better than before [ thi is so old htat you may have forgotten this and "before" lol]

I'm sure your level of rendering has GREATLY improved over that time period!
