The central part (the top bit) of the headphones feels very off centre? and the visual representation of sound doesn't seem to sit right, perhaps you could get the red part of the wave perfectly centred on the left earpeice and build the yellow glow around that? or maybe even have the red part floating with the yellow part being fed out from the ear peice?
aside from all this...
I have now found the perfect icon for my e-17 Audacity dock
i forgot to mention that this is the concept i'm working from. i'm thinking about going with a whole different method for making the wave...something that resembles that look more. i'll also probably add a shadow since that seems to be the popular thing these days.
yeah, i noticed that the top part felt off-center after i uploaded it, but it's just the camera's angle. do you think i should try adjusting the camera angle?
for the wave, i just made a bezier curve, duplicated it twice, and set the two copies as particle emitters, one projecting up and the other down. then i used a circle as the bevel object for the original curve...i could move the whole thing down so the curve begins in the center of the earpiece. as for the other suggestion, if i understand correctly, you think i should shorten the central red curve so that it doesn't touch the earpieces?
i also plan on making the earpiece texture more soft so it doesn't look like plastic...
